Gay Film Weekend 2012 features a Queer Shorts Film Program and filmmaker Q&A, guest curated by Indie Boots Film Festival. From award-winning festival favorites to brand new Chicago premieres, this 90 minute glimpse into the world of LGBTQ cinema has something for everyone, with comedy and drama, animation and documentary, traditional storytelling and experimental, funded projects and micro-budget, and even a musical. The Queer Shorts Film Program caps a weekend of panels and staged readings of the finalists in the 2012 Great Gay Screenplay Contest, a contest for screenplays with LGBT characters, history, or themes.

In this playful satire on strictly enforced identities, androgynous Angie's transgressive coffee drinking threatens not only her friendships, but also her position on the tea-drinkers-only "Ice Teasers" flag football team.

	Marimacho Animation . 3 Minutes Director: Elisha Lim . Writer: Coco Riot . Producers: Elisha Lim and Coco Riot Eight year old Coco thinks that "marimacho" is a name, like Mari Luz or Mari Nieve. It's actually a homophobic insult - but nothing can diminish the magic of first passing as a boy.

	Heartland Transport Documentary . 7 Minutes Director: Cody Stokes Heartland Transport is a short documentary following Ed Reggi and Scott Emanuel as they chartered a bus to take couples from St. Louis, Missouri to Iowa City, Iowa to obtain marriage licenses, immediately after the Iowa Supreme Court unanimously upheld the ruling holding that there was no governmental interest in denying citizens marriage licenses based on their sexual orientation.
	Make A Mate Animation . 3 Minutes Director: Jennifer Jordan Day A lonely woman finds a magical shop where she can craft an ideal mate.
